"I was born and raised here, and I care deeply about Newnan's future. I want to make sure this is still the kind of hometown that people fall in love with, and I'll work hard to balance growth with the quality of life we all value."

Jen Morrison was born and raised in Newnan and has deep roots in the community she is proud to call home. A 1998 graduate of Newnan High School, she went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in French and Art History from Hollins University in 2002. After returning to Newnan, she and her husband, Matt, CEO of Southern Cleaning Services, built their family and careers here. Together, they are raising three children: Maggie Chase, Cooper, and Elizabeth.
Professionally, Jen serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Redwine Cottages, Inc., where she has gained valuable experience in budgeting, accountability, and long-term planning—skills she is ready to bring to city government. Her love for Newnan extends far beyond her professional role. She is an active volunteer and community leader, serving as Vice President of the Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation, Board Member for the Patrons of The Nixon Centre, member of the Personnel Committee at Central Baptist Church (where she also sings in the Chancel Choir), appointee to the Bicentennial Planning Committee, and member of the Newnan Convention Center Authority. Through these leadership roles, she has championed access to the arts, educational opportunities, historic preservation, and thoughtful planning for Newnan’s future.
At home, she loves cooking and baking for her family, traveling, and sharing her love of music, whether singing in the choir or attending concerts. An avid reader, she enjoys exploring a wide range of books and has recently taken up the game of Mahjong with her friends.
With her deep community ties, professional expertise, and dedication to responsible growth, she is committed to ensuring that Newnan remains not only a great place to live but a great place to call home for generations to come.

Newnan is growing and changing, and I have been privileged to witness the evolution of our city throughout my lifetime. Newnan has always been a place filled with charm, community, and immense possibilities. Over the last decade, I have watched our city grow, change, and encounter a multitude of challenges, just as you have. And, while we have met those challenges to the best of our current abilities, I know that we owe it to our city to look forward and protect what we all know and love, our Newnan.
Newnan is located just 40 minutes from Atlanta, one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. That growth brings opportunities, but also challenges. I never want Newnan to become just another transient town. I want our city to remain the kind of place where people want to move, or in my case stay, put down roots and become part of our community. Over the last few years, Newnan has seen a rapid increase in high-density housing and commercial development that is changing the landscape as we know it. Let me clarify, I do not think growth is bad, we all want Newnan to continue to thrive. But growth without proper planning is risky for any community. If we do not look ahead and consider whether we have the roads, schools, public safety, and infrastructure to support these developments, we will all see our quality of life decline.I believe in responsible growth—the kind that strengthens our community instead of stretching it thin. The kind that keeps our small-town charm while preparing us for the future. Newnan deserves leadership that is forward-looking, practical, and invested in the next generation—not just the next election cycle. That’s why I’m running for City Council. Together, we can make sure Newnan remains not only a great place to live, but a great place to call home.

Community Support
